Default new project

i know this is in the wrong forums but since i have a b5 a4 and there is like no one in the other one i thought id share this with you guys. its a 1988 90 quattro manual with a 2.3l i5. it was this guys daily driver but he hit a deer, all it needs body wise is a new headlight and a new fender but ill probably just pound the dent out the best as i can seeing how the car is 20 years old. but other than that it just needs a tune up, oil change, plugs, fuel filter, brakes, hopefully not the fuel pump, but it cuts out and kinda sputters when i accelerate too hard (my buddy said possible the fuel filter so im going to go from there and see what happens. not bad for 125$

build a sweet rally course! or a nice jump haha, or get a friend to get one too and play car tag or something... i could think of 100 reasons to buy something like that! ive lost more money to the indians gambling at the res in an hour than that car costs, ive spent more money at a strip club in one night than that car costs, list of worse ways of spending that much money could go on an on lol... good find!

haha thanks flynnr, but exactly like you said there may be better ways to spend the 125$ but there are alot more worse, and how often do you come across a car that runs for that price. my a4 isnt quattro and i go to school in the mountains where it snows alot so this will come in handy. that was the deciding factor, i wouldnt have even considered it if it wasnt. and yea if all else fails take ill it out and have some fun with it. i probably wouldnt have a problem parting it and getting the money back if it came down to that

Looks like a fun project. Try unplugging the MAF sensor to see if the cutting in and out and sputtering stops. If it does stop, although you'll be running rich with it unplugged, you'll know it's the problem. But after 20 years, it could be several things. Checking the maf is easiest so start there. Hopefully you've replaced the plugs already by default.

It could even be just old tune items. Since you say it needs those do those and then try what onepoint8tee said.
