new project-I will FOREVER be a 12v 2.8

well I actually have an extra passenger side fender in my shed, randomly, so I could use that.
However i went to the u-pull-it this past weekend and they had a silver a4 there with the passenger fender still intact. So I may go back on sunday and see if they still have it. Since it was already silver, it'd save me the hassle of painting the other. Although the paintjob is shitty on the silver one, i really dont care all that much since the silver B5 is just my daily. I can always fix it "nicer" later.

More progress tonight. I got the motor up on my stand and began disassembly. I have not taken the head off yet, however tonight we worked on getting all of the random crap off of the outside of the motor. Took about an hour and a half. Here are a few pictures from tonight.
I have also decided that instead of keeping it as a 2.8, i will upgrading the pistons from 81mm to 83mm so it will now be a 3.0 liter. This will help increase the torque in the motor and help spool the turbo up faster which = MORRRRRREEEE POWWEEEERRRRRRR. I'm going to need all i can to hit the 600-700hp mark (yes, crazy i know)

Motor, meet your new home...well, eventually

me too. the reason i decided to was because the machine shop basically has the exact same price to hone cylinders, as to bore. and since the oversized pistons are the same price as stock size, i might as well! From the looks of it, the machine shop charges $20/cylinder to bore, $200 to align hone, and then $200 to assemble the shortblock. Not a bad deal IMO. This is the same machine shop that does all of the HorsepowerFreaks cars, so I'd trust their work too.
