Default New Rims, New Headlights, More Smiles

I finally got a chance to do something mainly because I wanted too, not just because it needed to be fixed. Kinda. Anyways, changed over to a set of 17" OE Replicas I had laying around, and just installed a new set of black DEPO headlights with an 8K HID system. And to apologize, but my car IS dirty, thanks to the nasty weather we have been having lately. I'm still busy fixing more stuff with it. Replacing my passenger side axle again (my new replacement is already popping!) and repairing the ABS wiring on it tomorrow. Might have time to check whether my fairly new MAF sensor is failing or if I have another issue that's popped up. Still keeping my eye out for a new-used driver's seat since mine is torn. Yea, this car keeps me busy.

When we bought the car the owner included them. They had no tires and he used them as winter wheels. So I have no idea where he got them.

But yes, they are 17x8. Maybe safer to say they are 17, with a best guess they are 8. I know they are a bit slimmer than the rims we took off, by maybe .5 inch.

We'll probably be selling them in a few months though. I really like em but my wife (it's technically her car, i just get to enjoy/fix it) is crossed on em. So after we get some money saved up, I'll prolly get a new set and sell these.

I also do have my old set for sale. I'll have to find some pics, but they are like 17x8.5, 5 "split" spoke fittipaldi's. I've got 5, but someone would have to offer me good for the 5th (it's the spare, and the only spare I have). Unfortunately one is bent and needs a repair

If you are using Empi brand axles, stop. Those are the most common OE replacement axles out there and have had serious quality issues this past year (as in being made 1/4-1/2" too short). Buy the CV replacement rebuild kit from Blauparts.com and rebuild the joint on your original axle (or use another OEM axle from a parts car). Search the forum for "cv joint" or something along those lines. I posted a lot of info about this in the last year or so.

They've GSP axles from Advance Auto Parts. Driver's side is fine, but the passenger side had problems from the start.

Only the passenger side one. The project on the driver's side is loose, and the front lens is faded and chipped. If someone offers me something for it I'd let it go though.

And the problem with the axle was a bad boot and joint.

I don't know how I feel about blacked out headlights on a silver car tho (IMO).

I was crossed on em myself. i originally wanted to go with chrome housings, but i had a bitch of a time finding a set w/ HID's at the price range I had to deal with. Sucks being broke.

But I'll be honest with you, the more I see it on the car, the more I like it.

Once I get a chance to wash and wax I'll get some daytime pictures up.

Looking forward to those pics.

I'm glad it's growing on you though. There are times I put something on the car that I'm not too sure about but it gradually grows on me.

At the very least, you could take them apart and repaint the inner housings.
