NewB with timiing belt question
New to the forum, just picked up a 98 A4 1.8T with a busted timing belt. I puchased a timing belt kit while the head is out getting fixed. I noticed that the new timing belt tensioner pulley is larger then the original. Is that normal???

^ Check out for a complete (the ultimate) timing belt kit.
You should do the waterpump, t-stat, complete coolant flush along with the belt and tensioner when you do the job. Like said above, check to make sure you have the right tensioner and belt for your engine code. Where did you buy from? A dealer?

Yikes, ebay could be your problem there. You shouldn't trust most of the stuff for sale on ebay as far as you could throw it. I'd look at a couple other kits and see what they look like, parts-wise. I feel like the tensioner pully should be identical if its an OEM or equivalent kit. GL!
