Greetings, I am new to Audi & this forum and I was looking for a piece of software that would allow me to do several things such as:

• unlock all doors with just 1 click (currently I need to click 3 times to unlock the trunk)
• turn off the DRL

I understand that the VAG-COM software will be able to take care of these, but I am a bit confused as to which version do I need. So far I've read about 4 versions: 409.1, 704.1, 805, 812.4...I have a 99 A4/B5 2.8 and am quite lost as to which I should use and what are the differences between them.

Also, is there a list of changes that can be done via VAG-COM?

Here's a link to the Ross-Tech website application chart. It will tell you what interface to buy and what modules you can access. We usually get ebay cables for $20.00 and download 409.1 which is all you need. Search ebay for "obd2 usb 409" and you will get a bunch of hits, they come with instructions on how to install and where to download 409.

 

i have a hacked 802.1 u do not need the newer software unless you have another newer audi but for this one you will use the old software which is fine

 

I still can't get the 409 to work. What version you all downloading?

 

Thx for your input. I ended up buying the following OBD2 OBDII Vag Com KKL USB Interface Cable for Audi VW off of ebay. Let's hope it works...

So, basically for my A4 B5, the 802 won't provide any additional benefits over the 409, correct?

Andrew149, I tried following the instructions you posted last time to hack 802, but I was never able to do so. I have an ebay cable, can I still do the hack? Also, where do I download the non hacked 802 version so I can apply all those patches in your thread? Any additional info? umm man this stuff is so hard to explain that hack thing i posted someone posted another site where u could download it or u could use the cd ur cable came with
