Nice deal on an A4?
Hey guys, I've got what I thought was a nice deal on an 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro 5sp for $3,500. It's at the 120K mile mark and had the Timing chain replaced @ 90k. The interior is literally showroom condition, but the front passenger quarter panel is dented, and it needs some brake pads. I test drove the car and it drove beautifully. However when I test drove it I noticed it had the CEL on so I broght my scanner over and came up with: P0171, P0300, P0301, P0302 (engine too lean and some misfire codes.) Any ideas on what could cause this, I don't mind jumping into it if I only have to do some plugs, wires and a MAF clean... but I don't want to mess with it if theres chance I'm picking up a ride with a bad motor. Also I've read the reason it's so cheap is because the motors about to go? I'm not sure how much truth there is to that / how long the motors in these things really do last? Any enlightenment or guidance would be greatly appreciated... the closest thing to an audi I had was a VW Passat VR6 which ended up being a nightmare lol.
