whats up guys, i have a 2000 a4, its a 1.8t quattro

ive been looking around for something to give my car some power because its fairly slow, and i heard a chip would wake it up alot, but im not sure what kind to get and what engine type i have? i guess you need a differnt chip depending on the year etc? any help and info would be very greatful, thanks

visit speedtuning's site. they are the cheapest chip out there but they're not crap. do a search on here and you'll get some reviews because we had a group buy and review a while ago. it definitely will wake your car up though. you'll also need a better DV. keep in mind that you might possibly need to replace the coil packs. and you'll need to regap your spark plugs after you put the chip in so your car runs better

Im sure you have an ATW 1.8T because thats all they made in that year. You can always take off you engine cover and it will be on the bottom right. GIAC isnt too bad from what ive heard either. And APR seems to have the most features to go along with it, but is on the pricier side.

giac seems to be the most aggressive especially if you plan on a KO4 upgrade later on, speedtuning is very good if you are on a budget. APR is overpriced for what it is but still a good tune. you will need a better DV as said. coilpack failures dont really have much to do with getting a chip, just kind of a luck-of-the-draw. new plugs one heat range colder and properly gapped would be a good idea though.

If you plan on getting a k04 for now but you still want a BT later on, you can go with Unitronics, so you will never have to get your ECU flashed every time you want a better turbo , you can customize anything with this tune, and use it on almost any turbo.....this is what i would do....save your money for a little longer and get the k04 upgrade and this should hold you until you have the funds for a BT setup.
