Default OBD Codes

What's up guys. I just got back from Autozone and got 9 different call outs for OBD codes. My car began to idle rough last night and the CEL began flashing. It still is as a matter of fact. It idles rough but it was driveable. Def. not going to risk driving it any longer until I can figure what's causing the issue. I have a Labree HFC and a chip upgrade from SpeedTuning just to give a small background of the car. Here are the codes:

P0171, P0300,P0301,302,303,304, P0102, P0130 and P0507. The guy at Autozone made it sound like it was the end of the world but I think it's rare for 9 different things to go bad all at once. I have an idea of what the codes mean by doing my research, I just needed an idea of where the primary issue is from the experts on this forum. If you could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks guys

The P0171 is a lean condition Bank 1, Can be caused by a vacuum leak, a malfunctioning MAS or a faulty O2 sensor.
P0300 is a random misfire
P0301, P0302, P0303 & P0304 are misfire on cylinder 1, cylinder 2... etc.
P0102 is a MAS
P0130 is a faulty O2 sensor 1
P0507 is an Idle air control system Higher that expected.

Looks like a MAS and an O2 sensor will clear things up... Don't forget to investigate the possibility of a vacuum leak.
Hope this helps!

Ok. I was thinking along the lines of replacing my spark plugs, crossing my fingers then replacing the coils.

P0171 - Fuel Trim,Bank1 System too Lean
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0102 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input
P0130 - O2 Sensor Circ.,Bank1-Sensor1 Malfunction
P0507 - Idle Control System Higher than Expected

You have a "System too lean" error code so this means that you have too much air left in the exhaust. Along with this error you also have the MAF error and usually a bad MAF shows less than the quantity of air that goes through the intake. Because the MAF shows less air the ECU opens the injectors for a shorter period of time and in the end you get air left in the exhaust. I think that you should change the MAF first and look for vacuum leaks, the oxygen sensor error might be triggered by the MAF problems.

Thanks Chris!

Isn't the MAF something you can clean as well? I could be wrong.

Thanks

You can try cleaning the MAF but this won't guarantee you that you'll get rid of the problem. The MAF has a very sensitive heated wire inside and, as the amount of air increases, the wire gets cooled. The lower the wire's temperature is the higher is the amount of air that goes through the intake. So cleaning the MAF might not help you at all if this measuring system is damaged. It can help if the wire is covered by dust but someone experienced should clean it.
If you have a scanner you can make a log on the MAF, so let me know and I will explain you how to do it.
Good luck.

First things first - you're chipped. Did you tighten the gap down to .028" on your plugs? If not, you'll definitely misfire under boost and that can cause your lean codes, misfire codes, and make the car think the MAF is bad. Verify plug condition and gap first, change plugs if need be, gap them at .028" and go from there.

Thanks fellas,

Devil- I've always been gapped at .028. I replaced the plugs and coils. Runs much better now. When I took out the old plugs there was oil on them. Guessing that my valve seals are cracked. Two points:

1) My car FINALLY sounds more throaty and I can hear my turbo loud and clear. I wonder if it's the non OE coils

2) Is anyone else having a difficult time finding th NGK BKR6E's in stores? Here in Jacksonville, NAPA and Autozone used to sell them and now they just sell the iridium plugs.

Chris- I'm going to see if I can get some info on the MAF. Since I'm gapped, and running w/ some extras, is it normal to run lean?

I really appreciate your inputs. I learn more about my car from guys like you. Thanks!
