Default OEM fog light install?

I have an 01 a4 and I just bought a pair of HID fogs off of craigslist, but I'm not sure how they are supposed to mount.

can someone take a pic of how theirs is mounted and what i may need to do?

I tried to Google the installation for this but most of what i found was for hid conversions. nothing really focusing on the mounting procedure.

Here is a picture of where the driver side fog light should go

If they're factory fogs there should be ears for screws on them and holes in that opening to screw them into. If not just line up the lights in there, mark and drill holes, and mount them. There are harnesses in there somewhere to plug into them.

I think i figured out the issue. Car was in an acident before i bought it. it has a clean title but i think instead of using a face lift bumper they used a pre-facelift bumper and the fogs i bought are face lift.

does anyone know if i mod these to fit by creating my own brackets will i still be able to use the face lift grills that fit next to the fogs?

I should note that my prefacelift bumper had the mounting locations ready from the factory. OP, it looks like you will have to drill yours or make brackets as in the first article I posted.

Very nice. I actually read your whole thread a month ago at work.Just to make sure, are those the face lift grills next to the fogs?

Yes, they are smaller to accommodate the lights.

The one question I have is about venting. I saw another version of the same grille that was vented to allow airflow into the IC. I haven't noticed any ill effects from having that blocked now (the stock non fog grille is vented as well), but I also haven't beat the car enough to soak the IC. My solution will be to replace it with a FMIC.

There are pictures for how the lights should be mounted in the audiworld thread.
