Pennzoil Platinum is good oil, as is Mobile 1. I still would use German Castrol 0w30 over either, though. If you're ever wondering about oil, check out the forums at www.bobistheoilguy.com.

Old Pennzoil oil sucked because it had wax in it that would separate from the rest of the oil over time, coating your engine parts. Not good. But Platinum doesn't do that.

They wanted to charge you 200 bucks for an oil change? There are more things wrong with that than I can count on one hand...

I'm sure we all would but I'd still take a W12 A8.

Ah the people that own those cars have more money than they know what to do with. The last one that rolled out of the dealer was sold to a 19 year old Arab kid, im guessing foreign oil had something to with it.......

Well just the oil alone on a W12 amounts to an ungodly sum, so if you're pulling $200 out of people with V6's, I can only imagine the jump in price for such a larger engine.

I think you're right about that foreign oil statement. And the statement about the people who own them having more money than they know what to do with. The base price of a brand new anything with four rings on it is more than I can currently make in a year so it's pretty prerequisite to have to be shitting money to be able to afford a new one, let alone maintain it. Someday I'll have that status, but its gonna be a few more years of schooling before that happens.

I would never take that W12; what a horrible engine design it is. My G8 takes over 9 quarts of oil. It will also be getting German Castrol.
