Hey all..... I used the search feature already and have read alot about different oil pressure problems....sludge ...etc... but none seem to be the same as my situation...

I picked up a 2000 1.8t with 114k last week..... the car is extremely clean and everything was perfect for the first 200 miles...... but today my oil pressure warning came on as I was pulling into work.... When i left work it was fine until about 15 min / 10 miles later once it got heated up...... I got home 2 minutes later..... I let it sit and cool and for experimental reasons took it for a ride.... same thing...once hot the oil pressure light came on...... The motor sounds healthy (no ticking or anything to indicate a serious oil problem).... Im not sure when the last time the oil was changed as there is no sticker and idk if the dash is correct and hoping maybe its just thinned out.... Im going to change the oil tomorrow and hook up a mechanical gauge to check it out...... any advice before doing so ?.... would sludge only affect the motor once its hot???? any advice? thanks in advance
