Oil temp low?

oil level and temp are the same in 01's, different in 058 blocks. i was thinking tstat because same thing happened to me. coolant would be fine temp durin the summer, but in the winter it wouldnt get up to operating temp. oil temp hardly got over 150 ever and the heat would only work half assed. after i put my built motor in, all is good. if OP has weather conditions that allow sub-freezing temps and his heat starts to not blow as hot, id say tstat for sure.

im so awesome at the audi 1.8t motor its ridiculous. in fact, the other day i was doin it doggy style with my girlfreind. she asked whats on my back? i put my haynes manual on her so i could read audi specs while doin it. ok maybe not really, but im so gonna pull it off next time

Ok so the heat does work somewhat, I just thought it was an Audi or an older car thing. I'll replace the thermostat but the one thing that makes no sense to me is if the coolant temp is fine and staying in the middle, then the thermostat in theory is working (I may be wrong). And how would that affect the oil temp?

Because your cam chain tensioner is bad and you still haven't fixed it.

Haha makes sense! So new cct, valve gasket, cct gasket, and thermostat?
