P0102 code help please
Car starts fine but then the car wont stay on. pulled the codes. It had only one. P0102 MAF or VAF circuit low input. Anyone else have this problem? Is it actually just the MAF?
My car is a 1999 A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro 5-speed.

Did some research and everyone says that cleaning that MAF will fix the problem. The symptoms that other people describe are the same as mine so i hope it works.
SOOOO.... I picked up some CRC MAF cleaner and some electrical cleaner. Gonna clean the MAF and some other things up and hope that fixes it at least for now.

update: Cleaned the **** out of the MAF. Let it dry and installed it. Car started, ran for a few minutes then died again. Smoked a cigg then tried again and the car ran fine. Got excited and drove it down the street but i can feel it messing up. So i came back and it died again in the driveway. Gonna get a new MAF on monday.
Any other suggestions to try out? gonna get the new MAF but i wanna make sure my car runs well.

Got my new MAF, car runs well with the new one istalled. BUT...there is a slight hesitation from 3,500-4,000 RPM's. I'm thinking i have a boost leak problem or something now. I do i check for leaks?
Yea, check for leaks. I had a vacuum line that had been broken and patched before, and the patch came apart. It was causing a hesitation in lower rpms. I thought one of the plugs might have been burnt out, because when I ran the car with the MAF unplugged, it ran fine. But the plugs had nothing to do with it, it was a vacuum leak. So definitely check for those.
