Default Paint code question

Quick question about paint codes. I have a pre-facelift 99 A4, paint code LY7M. A friend of mine is selling me an S4 bumper he picked up to install on his car, but the car has been sold. The bumper is silver too, but since I can't get up to see it for several days yet, I'm curious if any of you know whether the silver for the S4, which is a facelift car, is also LY7M or if it's a different paint code. It'd be great if this bumper didn't have to be painted and could just be bolted up, but I've heard that the facelift silver is different? Anyone know if this is the case?

My paint code is LY7W and I have a facelift 2001.5.

I think your silver is a little blue-ish compared to mine.

That's kind of what I thought would be the case, simply because of my friend's B5 Passat, which is a 2000. Parking my car next to his, my silver has a lot more blue in it, whereas his is much more of a straight silver. We'll see for sure when I get up there but I have a feeling that I'm gonna have to paint it.

That's what I figured. He has side skirts available, but that much more money to buy, plus to paint, is pushing it with what I'm willing to spend right now. I sold my wheels and have to get a new set of those too, and since I painted my lowers, I'm not gonna sweat the S4 sides. As for the front, I'm not sure if I'll leave it as it is OEM on the S4, or open the sides up RS4 style, while leaving the center grilles as-is...just have to think it over and see.

Lol thanks Andrew - you still beat me to the tinting. Phil, compared to my sig pic, the differences are: lower now (2.5" lower up front, 1.25" lower out back - I'll level it this spring at 2.5" drop all around), on my 16" black steelies and snow tires, and it's a hell of a lot dirtier now lol. The lowers are painted in the sig. My aims for this year are the new wheels, painting my roof, tint, finish the suede inside, Magnaflow 14816, S4 bumper, short shifter, and HID fogs. Anything else is a bonus

I sold the wheels to a friend (AF member tware4021) for $400.

The facelift fog mod is easy and worth it, especially once you get your projectors. As for the roof, no damage - I'm painting it black.
