the end result is the KO4 leaves you feeling like you're not quite there yet... and then you're stuck without the ability to upgrade more, without buying the elim anyway... most won't do just a KO4 as an upgrade, unless their stock turbo **** the bed... then the KO4 makes sense, because it's only slightly more expensive than the KO3.

You're right, I was. Plus, I'd love to see where you're getting a GIAC K04 file for $300. So you're talking ~$900 for the K04, plus injectors, a tune, and the manifold the OP was talking about buying. If you can get all that for $1300 I'll be impressed. Don't get me wrong, the elim kit WILL be more expensive, but its got far more potential for growth and improvement than a K04. With the kit from Mike, you can slap a GTRS/GT2871r elim on the stock exhaust manifold and run it with a new tune, injectors, and oil lines for ~$2k. Then upgrade other parts as needed. Just a better option, IMO.

http://giacusa.com/programs.php?mpid=368 says they're $300 as far as I can tell. And if you can get the kit from mike for close to $2000 I'd be all over it. I was just going by this price. http://www.ringer-racing.com/product...&categoryId=32

Thats neat, but those are AEB tunes and OP drives a 2001.

You're right, looks like I was a bit low. Still, I think the elim is a better option given that it includes a MAF housing, tune, injectors, turbo, oil lines....

best overall bang for the buck, if you ask me... you can pay 1500-1800 bucks for the KO4, and still get smoked by a stock STi or Evo

Or, you can do it right, save up, buy the elim, and walk the haters...

Ah, I just figured it was the same for the different years. I didn't see prices on the other years. Didn't mean to hijack the thread, I was just curious. Looking at some of the same upgrades as the OP (except for a manual 98 B5) and I'm trying to justify the GTRS. I'm almost convinced.

I was just going to go k04 and max it out, I'm thinkin go for the GTRS and have plenty of stuff to spend money on in a year and a half when I graduate. I thought I'd at least need a FMIC and other stuff just to begin running that kit. If it's stable just bolting it on that would make more sense as a starting point.

Everything you need to make it work is in Mike's kit... the rest is just icing on the cake...

^Right.

You don't NEED a new fuel pump, FPR, injectors, FMIC, clutch, motor mounts, etc, but you'll want them eventually and with the elim you can add them later on as funds/time becomes available to do so.
