Default Personal experience with Vmaxx coilovers?

hey guys.. i took a look around the forum for anybody who has had personal experience with Vmaxx coilovers on their b5 with quattro of course.. they are relatively new to the market they have been out for the fwd's but.. didnt know if anyone had gone that route recently with their quattro.. just wanted to see what they had to say about them. ive heard from friends in the volkswagen world that they are more for show than performance, and the ride is much softer than H&R's or Koni's.. but for the price as long as they dont fail.. you cant beat 600 for a coilover setup..

Any Takers?

Thanks guys/ladies...

Coils with the same spring rate front/rear? Ha. No thanks. A company that won't tell you key information about their sets? Yeah, right.

I haven't ridden in a car with them personally but I have a friend who has them and he tells me that they're soft but still stiffer than stock, and in my opinion I don't want a super stiff ride unless I'm going to be taking my car to the track

I agree with FACT, but CLX has a point too - the front springs should be stiffer than the rears because they're supporting the extra weight of the engine and the uneven distribution of the car's weight (biased to the front).

I have them on my car. They've been on about 6 months. The car sits at 25" to the arches all around, but could go much lower. I'd post a pic, but it's on stands with the brakes all apart. The front springs plenty stiff and I wouldn't want them any stiffer on the roads around here. The backs on the other hand could be stiffer, it bottoms on quick dips. Nothing serious, but I wish it didn't. Seriously, if you call and talk to the people at Stratmosphere, they're likely to cut you a better deal than they advertise.

Good to know. I need to meet up with you at some point and check out your car - I'd love to see how those coilovers sit and ride as I'm considering lowering my car (and I have that one spring on the rear that broke on the perch too).

yea ill definatley have to give them a call and see what they have to say. and any more money off of them would make me even more likely to get them. i live in vermont so, during spring months and stuff the roads are really bumpy with frost heaves and stuff.. thanks alot guys
