Talking Planning on upgrading my radio...

I think it is time to upgrade my radio, I'm a little tired of how lacking the the non-Bose Concert radio is. I have Alpine Type S installed all around. 5.25 in the front and 6.5 in the rear (I think I got both pairs for 50 dollars a while back) I do like how stock looks and am a little upset that I'll have to use an adapter plate for an aftermarket radio. That being said, which mounting bracket is recommended? I was searching to see if I could find a thread with pictures of people's aftermarket radio installs but didn't find any. I would love to see what other people have.

It's been a while since I installed a radio, but with my last install in my previous car (2000 Impala) I cut and soldered the wires. I'd rather do this car properly. Any tips or suggestions on what to get?

Thanks

I always use barrel connectors to the aftermarket harness to the stereo harness. a wire in each end then crimp in the middle. I've never had trouble with this method and it gives it a clean look. no need for electrical tape. if you ever need to tap into a factory wire i suggest these: Posi-Products™ Wire Connectors 6 tap connectors for 16- to 18-gauge wire — tap into wire without cutting or stripping at Crutchfield.com

I will most likely be upgrading to a double din pioneer and have been interested in the best installation face kit. I heard the Metra kit isn't great.
