not true totally true mr. phil. if he let go of the gas, lightly touch the brakes and wait a short moment for the the front wheels to grip, then turn the wheel about a full turn away from the bank and then slowly added gas he woulda gotten out with less damage. slamming on your brakes is the worst thing you can do on snow or ice. if you don't believe me, try going down a street with slippery snow on it, slowly push on the brakes until you feel the front wheels lose grip and you'll quickly find out that you actually slow down a lot slower.

as for drifting with a fwd, why not? plenty of people do it.

Yep, static friction vs. dynamic friction. You always want to have static friction when on icey and snowy roads. Like when taking off on snowy roads, don't just lay into the pedal like you normally would, youll find yourself barely moving and looking like an idiot to anyone who see's you lol.Thats dynamic friction. Slowly apply the gas pedal, don't let those wheels lose grip, idle if you have to, thats static friction.

really brakes helps almost 0% in the snow. its all about having a manual and going through your gears first gear is easy to keep control or spin the tires with
