Default please help my baby a4 2.8 1998

hey everyone, so i lost my key a couple of days ago and had to break into my car with a coat hanger. after i got inside my alarm went off and i popped my hood and disconnected the battery. i got my key today and i hook the battery back up. as soon as i turn my car on i hear a weird kinda grinding groaning noise and when i turn the wheel its even worse. this is making me suspect the power steering pump. i checked the reservoir and it had fluid in it still. do you think it could be anything else and if this is it where should i buy the part

Is it a high pitch whining noise?

its not really high pitch it sounds like it did when one of my power steering lines broke. but there is still fluid in the reservoir that is why i think its the pump

try flushing your p/s fluid...

you should be running pentosin Ch11 (green can)...the previous owner could have put the wrong kind of fluid in...or your fluid could be bad...

I have heard it suggested in the past to replace your fluid every 2 years...

first thing you should do is flush the system, if the groaning continues, then you probably will need to replace your power steering pump...

get on it asap, because if your rack is not getting proper lubrication, you will be looking at a much larger bill...

gl!

Flush your power steering system and fill it with pentosin if its still making the noise then its probably your pump
