"Please stop vehicle and check oil" and EPC issue

Hi everyone, I have an 2010 audi a4 2.0t. Recently it has been giving me a few issues and I'm not too sure what the problem is since I'm not very knowledgeable about cars.
Issue 1: there is a lot of engine noise coming from the car, especially when it is in idle. When I accelerate the sound goes away to a certain extent and the noise does decrease. I noticed that when this sound gets louder whenever I get the message "please stop vehicle and check oil level". I've had this sign come on constantly after I break and come to a full stop, or if I make a turn and accelerate ive even had the car just shut off. Today the noise was there and I put half a litre of engine oil in and the sound goes away. Whenever this sign comes on I put just a small amount of oil in and it stops coming on. What I'm afraid of is why does that sound get very loud and is there a oil leak?
Issue 2: recently the EPC sign comes on randomly and I feel the car has very little throttle. This sign also comes on more often when my oil is low. The other day I was driving and I made a turn down my street and right away my car turn off, the sign came on "please stop vehicle and check oil". So I put the car in park and re started it. Sometimes it's as if the problem isn't there, and then all of a sudden it is. Its like driving two different cars.
The car is only 115000 km / 71k Miles driven on it.
Hi there. It’s best to post in the correct section of the forum. This is for the B5 A4 which was made from 1996 to 2001. Yours is a B8 A4.
As far as your oil is concerned, there is a known issue for oil consumption for the 2.0T. Some have to add a litre of oil per 600 miles. If you are experiencing a high consumption of oil over a short period of time, you may want to check with the dealership to see if your car qualifies for an oil consumption test. I have not done this myself but have read about it on the forums. Do a search for oil consumption test for the year, make and model of your car and do some research.
As for topping up, check your manual on that one. I bet it will say when that warning light comes on, put 1 litre in.
The noise you are experiencing is the cam chain rattling on to your cam chain cover. Oil pressure is used to keep the chain taut and when it doesn’t have enough oil, the piston loses pressure and the chain slackens and hits the cover. When you put oil in, it then has enough oil to pressurize the piston and make the chain taut again. When you go around a corner and the oil sloshes around in the pan and there is not enough, the pick up tube sucks air and the same thing happens.
The car turning off when the EPC light and low oil messages popping up is to save your car from catastrophic failure due to low oil. The low oil level and loss of power (limp mode) are all related. I would get your car scanned for codes and make sure your engine oil is always full and inquire about the consumption test if you are having to fill it often.
