Default Pod Air Filter

Hey people,

I have already got a K&N boxed Air filter fitted on my 98 A4 turbo quattro but it was fitted by the owner before me.

I was wanting to put a regular pod filter on it(not a boxed in one) and as i dont know much about filters and Audis can anyone tell me if this is a good idea and what brand to go for also any other tips and things to look out for?

aaah...Im not sure what you mean about a boxed in filter but if you have a K&N you dont have to replace it there supposed to last longer than the car but you might have to clean it. in order to clean it you have to get a K&N activation kit which is a special type of solvent and the oil you spray on after youve cleaned it I got my kit for about $20 comes with instructions and its easy

what i meant by boxed in filter is, you cant actually see the pod filter. It has the plastic bits all around it. So its not an exposed pod filter

I just had a look at my air filter and its all boxed in and stuff and it looks really hard to get to, to put a pod filter on.....

Does anyone know the best way to pull the filter box apart so i can get to the filter, to change it?
