Default position of rear O2 sensors...

Anyone know if the rear O2 sensors are located in the mid-section of the cats?? I may be replacing the cats with universals and prefer to get whatever is as close to stock as possible....not sure how much the location matters tho.

its in the cat pipe after the comb... its more important that the bung is placed so there will be clearence for the sensor to stick out, as long as one O2 is before the comb and one is after

cat pipe??...I'm a little unclear here...forgive me. I am looking at this one...

Its a magnaflow 93536 and states that the sensor port is located "post-bed" so I'm assuming that's after the comb. Should two of these suffice? or do I need to get two different cats so that the O2 sensor position is different?
Also, how can I determine the clearance for the sensor? I would imagine I can just compare the dimensions with the stock ones. I'm looking at custom piping from the cat back so maybe that will give me some measure of freedom with spacing the cats (maybe not).

...basically I have 3-4 days to decide whether 'to cat or not to cat'! I am concerned about:
1)the affects on emissions (standards); do HFC necessarily create worse/more emmisions
2)the legality of it (If its allowed to replace stock with HFC in Ontario, Canada; or more generally in other jurisdicitons?)
3)The possibility of the HFC throwing CEL or other codes or otherwise interfering with the ECU
4)whether or not the above cats can properly accommodate stock rear OXS

Is it true that the cats are a common wear issue when u approach higher mileage? Also, how necessary are HFCs to compliment a supercharger? Don't really want to do this, but if it is the sensible decision then I will.

Anyone with info, please chime in as I need to decide quickly. My car sounds like ABSOLUTE S**T!!

Cats can and do fail at higher mileage, usually as a result of running too rich over a long period. Think RX-7 wankels... they could be counted on to kill cats at 60-120k.

HFC will/should have the same emissions as the stock one. The laws (I'm a banker, not a lawyer and definitely not Canadian) should allow you to replace the cat with an aftermarket unit. It should not throw a CEL, if it does, it's the wrong/defective cat. The O2 may or may not fit depending on where the bung is. This might be crapshoot unless you can measure.
