Posted this in Detailing thread but i think it will take forever. Help with paint match?
Hey guys,
I recently bought a Rieger RS4 bumper and i am getting it painted while it is off of the car by an auto collision / paint shop. My car is a Black 98 A4 so im sure it has been faded by the sun from its origional color. What is the best way to make the origional paint on the rest of the car match the new paint on the new bumper? Im sure a nice wax will help but im looking for something a little more solid. Thanks alot guys, im so afraid the blacks are going to look so different its gonna look horrible. Anything can help. Thanks again.

sounds like you need to do a job where you deoxidize the paint, then polish, wax and seal it. I'm not a very good detailing expert but I think that would help some.
if i could get more info on that it would be great. i just dryfit the bumper today and its totally sick. cant wait for paint.
Try clay bar followed by a deep crystal polish. Mothers has a nice clay bar, Meguires has a nice polish and lots of good waxes.
Zaino Bros. is supposed to be seriously kickbutt stuff, but I haven't had the opportunity to experience it first-hand other than seeing results on other people's cars, which are sweet.
On second thought though,
shouldn't the body shop be painting your new bumper by paint chip to match your car...?

I use Zaino and love that ish, also a bonust the zaino compounds all seem to have a hint of fruit smell to them to my nose so it smells good while waxing your car
. I can't wait to get home a detail my car for the summer months. Also Zaino is seriously easy to apply and work with.
i doubt doing any kind of detailing will help blend the new paint into the original. you can go to a paint mixing shop with your gas door and have them color match it. i think that's the best way even though it may be a bit more expensive but you don't want to get a repaint if your way doesn't work right? and Zaino is the sheet +45243523462727
