Default Power Steering Cooler Upgrade?

I noticed that my stock PS cooler has a small leak somewhere. Nothing too major, the fluid level drops to the min mark every couple of months. I saw a DIY for installing a small transmission cooler in front of the a/c condenser. I'd like to know what type of driving would necessitate doing such a mod and whether or not having this cooler mounted on the condenser would hinder a/c performance or engine cooling due to its location.

Here's a pic I stole from the DIY (thanks bitjockey @ audiworld):

how do you know you're cooler is the one leaking and not your pump or rack?

The cooler was the only part that was wet with hydraulic fluid. The rest of the lines were completely dry.

well if you do a lot of consecutive turns like autox or if you mostly drive the streets with stop signs, you might want to get one but it's not that big of a deal really. the aftermarket cooler will not hinder much, that's how most people mount them anyways. you could probably make your own cooler from those bendable copper lines sold at home improvement stores lol

I do plan on doing some autocross in the future so I think I'll go ahead and do this mod. Thanks for the advice.
