power steering pump?

My power steering is making noises and stiffer to turn and my fluid level isnt low, it a little dirty. but i was thinking maybe the pump is going out? dose that sound right?

i have 160K miles

I'd suggest checking the belt first to make sure it is not slipping, then try to change the PS fluid with fresh Pentosin 11S. If that doesn't work, then a new PS pump may be needed.
