i'll write the diy right now.

1) materials:rubbing alcohol
2000grit sand paper
8mm deep socket
3"extension
ratchet
flat head screw driver
tint spray

2) remove the 4 8 mm nuts that hold the tail lights on

3) take off the black part that has the bulbs on it

4) slide the tail light out carefully, don't drop it

5) use the screw driver to pry the plastic pins to remove the bottom part of the tail light that has the body color.

6) check to see if you have any cross hair looking markings on the lights, if not, skip number 7

7) wet sand the cross hair thingys off

8) clean the lights with rubbing alcohol

9) spray the tint on going from side to side. do a light coat from like 8 " away. do a second coat from 6" away. do a third from 5" away if needed.

warning: don't spray the lights so that they are dripping or start to drip. don't over tighten the nuts when you put them back on.

 

on my car there's no black part that has the bulbs, just an electrical connection you have to unclip. and i just taped off the bottom section instead of removing it, its faster (and i didn't even know that section came off)

here's my short DIY

remove tail light or mask off car
clean
spray
let dry and put back in or remove tape

its really easy

 

Yeah it isn't hard at all, I did my honda tails when I had one, but I still don't think I'll do it to the Audi.
