......so on with my question-i want something different than my stock tails (fugly as sin old style), but can't afford new ones, so does anyone have any pics of the pre facelift tails tinted? Thanks in advance

i'm torn on how to do mine
i've seen just the clear sprayed, everything but the clear sprayed (like yours), or the whole thing sprayed

 

taped off the clear section before i sprayed them with VHT Nite Shades

 

The 034 Motorsport A4 VR6-T has tinted '96/'97 tails:

 

I'd say go for the tinting - it takes the ugliness out of them, or at least makes it tougher to see and smooths out the look of it.

I don't think stock tails are ugly.
