problem help

Default problem help

my 1999 a4 1.8t won't start anymore. so I went ahead and did any oil change to see if there was damage internally. there was a small peice of sludge in the oil. do you guys think I need a new motor or can I fix my current motor

gonna need a little bit better of a diagnosis or we can all just guess and you'll get both answers.

Run a VAG com and tell us if you get any codes

it will turn over just wont start? my guess it the ect

Auto zone should let you borrow their diagnostic scanner/fault code reader. Not much anyone can do to help you until you at least try to see if there are fault codes stored. Probably not the ect though, or sludge thats keeping it from starting. You gotta give more details man, we arent psychic.
