Nope. Nothing. Same with the one in my signature. If the OP had complained about the rear wheel bearings I would have said "no s--t!" I can do those in my sleep. But his alternator problem is pretty uncommon for these cars.

I'm talking to mimgq2, who appears to live in jersey. He has a laundry list of repair needs before struts. your drive around queens is n/a.

Yea.. my car is N/A but what does that have to do with shocks and struts. His car may weigh slightly less than mine but I doubt my numbers are incorrect.

He meant N/A, like Not Applicable, not NA, naturally aspirated.

If VAG issued a recall for the something like the LCD it would have been 100% voluntary, sure it's super annoying but you don't just issue recalls nilly-*****. Now if the cluster had a tendency to burst into flame there would be a case, but as it stands there isn't any way a bad LCD screen would make the car dangerous or even affect its operation in any way.

I'm with you on the blinker relay though, it's amazing that they were able to screw up something so basic. Mine still works, but only when it's warm inside, it's actually kinda fun to watch it slowly come back to life.

Unfortunately it's not very easy at all to replace just the regulator without removing the alternator, although I saw one thread where someone claimed to do it. So you still have to take the damn thing out to fix it.

Recalls are for safety issues!
Why does every cheepo seem to think that because there 10 year old car has the same problem as every one else that the manufacturer should flip the bill? If you want a warranty buy a NEW car!
