Project B5 RS4 Sedan.
dood this deserves to be on a magazine...and not just the front cover, but like 60 pages dedicated for this project complete with pictures and description of every bit you've done with the car.
is there a line for this where we can take it for a test drive, or better yet rent it for a week? i'd like to be first

You know this build is like a 1/4 mile run .............
It doesn't count unless you can back it up, and I nominate my car as the back-up run ......
I never thought I would say this to another guy, but do me next ......

Lol! Engine will be in soon.
Just need to source an RS4 clutch, and 2 V6 frontrack halfshafts.
The 01E 6-speed runs large inner CV joints, while non-S / RS quattro models run smaller ones.
Frontrack 1,8T / V6 run larger inner CV joints, same as the S4 / RS4.
I guess due to all the power going to the front wheels, they need to be bigger.

Hi, I'm new here, just bought my A4 B5 the other day, and my mouth is still dragging on the floor in awe after reading the last 11 pages of what you have done!
You sir, are indeed a total madman, and have my utmost respect and admiration!
(Round of applause, please!)

Wow man this is my first post here but after reading a lot projects here yours seems to top a lot of them
. I love how you didn't "rice" it out but kept it classy. Great job on the mod man you have a lot more patience then I will ever have.
Please get this car featured in a mag btw.

Yesterday, a B5 RS4 propshaft turned up.
As I'm also fitting a B5 S4 6-speed tranny, the propshaft is necessary, though not essential.
The 01E 6-speed box is marginally longer than the 012 / 01A 5-speed, so the propshaft has to be correspondingly shorter.
There's enough "plunge" to retain the 5-speed prop, but not the best of solutions, as the torque generated by the engine tends to pull / push on the prop.
Without enough plunge, the torque will act on the rear differential flange, as well as the centre one, the bearings won't last very long.
I was going to have my shortened, then balanced, but an OEM RS4 one means I can just bolt it on...
