Man getting VCDS setup on this laptop was a PITA! I've been away playing army for a while so here is what's happening with the old girl so far.

Rough Start and Misfire, also for some reason the ******* battery continues to kill itself. I got angry and tore out the alarm... (100 degree heat makin me crazy)

P1602 (terminal 30 voltage too low) means the computer isn't seeing sufficient juice at output terminal 30 on the ignition switch. Probably from the alarm draining your battery - once you get some run time, long as your battery isn't toast, you'll be able to clear it for good.

P1420 worries me somewhat. I didn't think your 97 had an SAP but that code is for an SAP circuit malfunction. That could cause trouble at inspection time. Ditto for P1436 (SAP relay malfunction).

P1470 - EVAP Emission Control LDP Circuit Electrical Malfunction. Not sure what to say on this one, other than a vacuum or check valve failure of some sort. Hoping someone will chime in on it.

 

Forgot to mention that the Devil and I recoded the ECU to where we needed it, he has since updated MetalMan's DIY in reference to the 12v 2.8 5 speed
