well im hoping for option A personally haha.. but how does that exclude them from emissions? do smog shops not have awd dynomometr thingies?

i wont harp on the tire issue, though i agree with them that its dangerous to run those.

most, probably 80% of all dynos are 2 wheel dynos. if an emissions testing place cant put the car on a dyno they have to just put the sniffer in the tailpipe and rev the engine. usually that doesnt put out as much smog as if the engine had load on it and makes it more likely you will pass.

my 1996 is fwd easy way to check is to jack kup the car no transfercase its not awd

I dont see a CVT in the rear.. you have to be FWD. The shocks are mounted differently than a Quattro too. It doesnt matter which way the engine is mounted... Sorry man. But at least you'll get better mileage.









And change your tires! There's actually no excuse when you can hit up a local garage and pick up a pair of used ones for less than $50, mounted. I just got 4 Bridgestone Duelers (275/75 r-16's) w/ ~70% tread mounted and balanced for $200.
