130K and instant death, huh? I just hit 128... guess I need to be careful!

yes you do need to be careful the manual clearly states "upon hitting 130 mph stock tires will blow out resulting in death" i may have paraphrased

I'm putting an end to this...!

1. ALL A4 engines are mounted longitudinally
2. ALL year A4s were offered with FrontTrack or Quattro as an option
3. Look under the rear of the car. If there are not two rear axles and a rear differential, it's not Quattro! If there is an axle at each of the 4 wheels, it's Quattro!

That's it. Done.

I agree on the used tires - you can find them on craigslist. Go to auto parts section and search them there.

Oh, I thought it was 130,000 on the odo and the tires explode (all four, spontaniously).

Guess I'll have to try the 130 MPH once I get my damn coil pack fixed...

B5s do not come in rear wheel drive.

you know what i would do to figure this out? red light. floor it. if there is tire spin then it is fwd. the 12valve engine does not have near enough power to spin all four wheels. i know. i have tried......
