I looked at my coolant tank today, and I noticed two things.

1)It's a rust color
2)Its below the minimum level..

So I should drain it, and put in new coolant, right?

 

yes, you should drain it and add new coolant. its not necessary to preform a coolant flush but you can do it if you prefer.

 

Which kind of coolant does the a4 b5 take?

 

g12 coolant. and you can only get it online at ecstuning or Audi/VW dealer for like 25$ and you mix it with distilled water (50/50)

I would buy 2 bottles and you will have some left over(about a half bottle) if you drain your coolant system.

If you drain the coolant from the radiator plug, there will still be coolant left in the engine. From what i remember there is alot left over in the engine when doing my timing belt job.
