I found this "rare RS4 grille" on ebay and it says it'll fit the B5 and I think it'd look way good on my car (its pretty reasonably priced too, IMO) but the problem is the latch to open the hood is in the wrong ring. My latch is in the second ring from the left, but on this one is in the third from the left, can I still use this grille? Is there a way to switch the latch to work in the other ring or do I need to keep shopping? Here's the link to the item on ebay:

Nevermind on this, found a different one that is the almost the same, cheaper, and has the latch in the right place. I would delete the thread but I seem to be oblivious to where the delete button is (if there is one).

 

The rings on that grille are not genuine/fugly. Yuck. Idk how they can call that an rs4 grille.

 

It doesn't have the badge on it in the pic, is that what you're referring to? I've never pulled the badge off a grille to know what it looks like without the chrome rings on it to know the difference. Either way, the other one I found looks better than this one anyway IMO and if I can come up with the cash, I'm probably gonna get one soon.

 

The honeycombs (or whatnot) looks different than the OEM RS4 grille.
They also painted the outer grille black instead of the usual silver.



To each their own. I'm just letting you know it's not OEM.

 

I see I see. Yea, I know its not oem, and like I said before, the one in the link isn't the same one I would be getting cuz I found a different one that I like more. But I can see the difference between the two now. The silver outer edge definitely looks better, if the one I end up getting is just black (too lazy to pull up the page and check if it is or not :P) then I'd probably mask off the rest of the grille and paint that edge with some silver paint or something.
