Default A Quick Question

I want to replace my steering wheel with the updated 3 spoke wheel. How hard is it to remove the steering wheel and is there a DIY somewhere? I've been looking and can't find one. Thanks!

There is a DIY for replacing the combination switch here or on AudiWorld and that'll show you how to remove it. There was a thread about this a few months ago and there were a few things that mattered for this swap - a wheel from certain years won't work and others will.

That was going to be my next question haha. Do you by any chance know which wheels would work for a '96?

I think the first few steps would be all I need to do, correct? If so that doesn't look so difficult.

I've never done this before so I am not completely sure but from what it sounds like you want to do yes, thats correct.

Just make sure that you get compatible parts like devil said.

I would think the biggest problem is gonna be if you have tipshift buttons. Have you sourced a steering wheel yet?

Not yet I'm still on the lookout. Been searching on the vortex and around here. I'm not in any rush but if I could find one right now I'd probably pick it up. I need to find out which years work with eachother.
