R17 - I Need Bigger Tires
I've changed my wheels to 17", and I'm currently using 225/45 R17 tires. But as I live in Rio de Janeiro and the city has the worst pavement ever every week I need to take at least one wheel to do a repair.
And of course when It comes to repair its a major pain in my as* because the tires starts runnning flat and I have to change it...
I thought "why the 16" wheels didn't needed so much repair?" the answer: 205/55 tires... there's a lot of rubber!
So I started wondering about 225/50 and 225/55 (
) tires in my car. I need my car functional, I can not run with 3 spair tires all the time (it's serious... I really carry 3 spare tires all the time).
btw, my car is not lowered, so there's a lot of empty room and I might roll my fenders, if needed.

I've bought a 225/50 set. the car is running so much smoother. ok, it's not looking "sporty" as use to look, in fact 17" does look smaller right now. But that's the way is possible in Rio. My car is a daily driver, I can not afford loosing my reliability. maybe next time instead of an Audi I'd buy a Panzer.
there's nothing wrong, but I'm sort of tired of them.
Lowering is next step, I'm currently studying how to do it without loosing reliability and confort . but when do you guys see how's driving in rio... you won't say "fool". The logical thing here is having 33 tires and driving a topkick.
here's how it looks right now

Go with ST coils for low. A good price and ride quality is great, I raised my car so the fender sits right over the tire, no wheel gap and the ride is fantastic. You won't be disappointed, especially since you won't be slamming it.
