Unhappy Radiator hose! How much?!

I noticed that my coolant level keeps going down. I noticed the hose that runs from the upper radiator hose to the oil cooler had a leak. There is a pulley which sort of rubs against it and eats it in the process. I went to the stealership and bought the hose for $22. Now heres the kicker, they wanted $375 to replace it !.
I dont know how tough it could be, I can open one end with my eyes close; the other end is fixed to the oil cooler, I dont think it should be that tough.

Is there something Im missing?

the dealer charges 100$ an hour.. so they are probly saying 3 hours to do it... bs! plus they go out of a book for how much to charge... so my dad is probly going to kill me when we get the bill from the stealership for my transmission

because that has something to do with what the OP asked...

if you are at all mechanicly inclined you can probably replace it yourself with basic tools in an hour or two. its not very hard to do. their "book rate" probably involves steps that arent really necessary like removing the intake manifold and whatnot.

Ok, but its a radiator hose. The first end is easy to fix. I cant imagine the oil cooler to be so far out of reach that it will take 2 hours to get to it!

Guys whenever you change your oil filters make sure they dont accidentally knock hoses or parts from where theyre supposed to be; apparently its a common problem with the placement of our close-quartered parts.

the oil cooler is under your coolant expansion tank, you will need to remove the 3 screws that hold it in place and move it out of the way. the oil cooler is this thing

your oil filter screws into it. all you have to do is find the other end of the hose and cut the clamp off, shove the new hose on there with a new worm drive clamp and your good. the longest and hardest part of the job is moving stuff so you can get to the cooler.

for the 2.8 engine, you just need a pair of pliers for the side connected to the oil cooler. we had a problem like that on one of the 12v and it was rubbing against a pulley. the hose was just installed wrong. all the person needed to do was turn the hose and it would have not been touching the pulley. so make sure you install it correctly. i'm pretty sure a pair of pliers and strong hands is all you need. if you want to do a better job, replace the factory clamps with clamps from a parts store. the factory clamps don't like to clamp tight anymore once you remove it. o and the oil cooler should be on the filter. well it's the thing the filter screws onto
