Default How do I get the radiator hose off?

I have a 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro w/Auto and I'm in the middle of a timing belt job. I'm having a problem disconnecting the hoses from the radiator. I see the metal clips and I pulled them back, but the hoses aren't budging. I tried to pry the upper hose off with a screwdriver and the plastic started chipping. Any tips on how to get this off? It's supposed to be a quick release right? Thanks in advance.

Ya it should pop off with a very hard yank. There is a o ring in there that likes to seal real well. When I took mine off I thought I was going to brake it with how hard I had to pull it.

Default getting off the radiator hoses

try spraying them w/ penitrating fluid like PB Blaster and turn them as you pull them off.

If you wiggle the hose around and twist a little it should pop right off. I haven't had an issue yet.

Yep - it takes some twisting and swearing and it can be a real mother to get off there, but it will come off. It's a pain, but that's good really - not likely that it'll ever just pop off while you're driving.

Thanks again for all the replies. I shot it with some penetrating fluid and let it sit over night. The next morning it came off with little resistance.
