Default Rai 3" Test Pipe owners come, CCA4

Cca4 you're in the title because I think I remember you having one.

Basically I installed this last night and the pipe-turbo went on easy. The 3 studs that go onto the downpipe are a completely different story, I think I have them all tight but when I took it out for a spin it had the worst f-ing sound I have ever heard. It sounds like a combination of a motorcycle, a lawn mower, and a riced out straight pipe Honda. The turbo spools loud as hell which I like but the other sound I can't handle. Does this sound like what you guys have?? Or is it leaking at the downpipe-test pipe connection?? Previously my scorpion cat-back had a deep quiet tone which I like, I don't like a super loud ricey exhaust. Please help, I hate it soooo muchhhh

Never mind, I put it up on a lift and redid it and now it sounds almost like it did before, just a little louder with more turbo

Sounds like you had a loose bolt someplace causing an exhaust leak. Pretty sure I have a small exhaust leak now that you mention it. Glad you got it sorted!

Exactly what it was, half of the test pipe was tight while the other half was wide open. Worst sound ever.

Yeah it sounds like a weed whacker or something lol. Glad you got it sorted. I gotta get under there and check the nuts on mine again.

Do it, easy with a full car lift, nearly impossible without (atleast in my case).
If anybody is reading this that is on the fence(like I was) about doing a test pipe, do it!! It sounds so good, and performs even better. Definitely helps with my rediculous underhood temps too

Yeah I wrapped mine with titanium header wrap and then slopped on a bunch of that hi temp silicone spray. For starters it stops the wrap from unwrapping, and it helps seal in the heat. Not as good as a full ceramic coating, but it's better than nothing.

And you're right, anything relating to the downpipe is a pain in the *** without a lift. I do it with ramps and jack stands and I want to kill myself by the time I"m done lol

Mine is just painted with vht flameproof stuff, doesn't do heat reduction but its still much cooler then the cat was. If I thought about it I probably should have wrapped it but there is no way in hell I'm taking it back off to do it haha
