Default Rally A4

I did the search and read lots of threads. I think when I graduate college my A4 is going to be setup for the offroad. I love driving it in the winter and there is a track not to far from here.

So just to do some recreational riding I have thought that I should do the following.

Aluminum skid plate from the bumper back and underneath the transmission.
Get a little more ground clearance with some new shocks.
Bigger breaks.
Bigger wheels and tires.

I have a few questions with all of these ideas. Should I go aluminum with the skid plate or something else? I am a plastics engineer and my prof made a kevlar skid plate. He said it worked like a charm but was pricey. Didn't want to use diamond plated steal because of the weight either.

Would it be best to get the ground clearence with new shocks or when I get new wheels just get bigger ones?

Bigger wheels and tires? I always thought that rally cars often have narrow tires. Look at the UR-Q. As for skid plate- aluminum.

Search "The Russian" on this forum. He does rallying with his V8 powered B5.
