yea i like the closer ones also. it would look better i think from different angles if i do have to mold them into the hood

 

im not going to tell you not to do it, but i dont think i would like it. i hate the subarus with massive round lights like that. i think it just looks dumb. my 0.02$

 

i personally think if you were going to do it like your 2 pictures, they should be more on the outside. But i would move them in closer to where the inside edge of them is just outside the rings. seems like it would look a little more centered vertically if it wasnt right up against the trim
