Real world results and newb questions...
i dont mind buying an auto trans... actually i kinda prefer it after driving a stiff clutch in a 550+ rwhp mustang through 45 to 60 minutes of rush hour traffic everyday... especially for a daily driver...
So lets make a quick list:
APR tune
New Diverter Valve
New plugs (ngk tr6's ok? thats what I use on my boosted stang...)
New Waterpump
Timing Belt
With the Carbino intake, I was thinking since it still works with a K04 upgrade which I may do in the long run, I might jump to that to begin with... but if you think a K&N is comparable, then I might just skip it.
And I've heard a couple mixed reviews on Nuespeed products in general which is why I havent even looked at their exhaust kits. I may however end up going with Borla, or buy the Milltek and custom fit it if I have to.
When you guys buy boost gauges do you bother adding a wideband air/fuel ratio gauge? Its pretty much a must for supercharged mustangs to make sure things are in check, but I havent read of anyone with a 1.8T having one... just asking...

The NGK BKR7E plugs work well on chipped cars (gap to 0.028). They are $2-3 per plug and should be changed with the oil.
I would not buy the carbino intake at this point. For a cheaper solution, look into a cone filter with custom heat shield, lots of DIYs on this.
Also, the ko4 has a high $/hp ratio, check out the gt eliminator kit for real power gains.

Like Devil was saying, in my manual, I'm pushing a little over 3000 RPM at about 70, so I'm sure it's geared closer than the auto. Also, I've heard from quite a few people that the intake on these cars are pretty efficient and stock is fine until you start getting into big boost set ups. I've also heard quite a few say skip K&N filters because the oil will foul up your MAF sensor, causing you to run rich and eventually misfire...
As for the NeuSpeed exhaust, I've had mine since March and I haven't had any issues with it.
Also, blauparts.com has a complete TB kit with WP and new tensioners and everything for about 300 bucks I think. Here's the link for the 2000-2001 http://www.blauparts.com/proddetail....od=GH21103%2DC

oooooooh... me likey! before I read the last bit about adding a cage I was starting to wonder if any of the local strips would let you back after a run or two.. haha. My tbird's kind of at a stand still until I get out of college in the next year or two. I plan on stripping her down and doing a pro-street build. Thinkin tub out the rear, do a full cage, and go for a 460.
