I'm very confused about the whole HEX+CAN+KII thing. And the licensing. If someone could just show me which to buy, exactly... (prefferably cheaply) I'll be glad to toss 20 your way through paypal. Thanks.

 

okay well what i did was bought a cable for $80 its the closes to the real thing and the real the thing is $200 so i took my cable and vagcom and i hacked the vagcom pretty much than put in my hex number from my cable into the software so it would reconize it... if you use google you can find out what everyone else bought

 

yeah, but...my question is more along the lines of will any odb II to usb cable work? keep in mind im 100% new to my audi.. a link to the exact item would be great, will pay whoever does this.

 

It should. Most guys buy the $20 cable. If you're getting the free shareware version of VagCom, get the 409 USB version.
