Default Really Quick Question!

I have a blown tweeter on the passenger side and with certain songs it bugs me to no end. I found a pair of tweeters on vortex for $25. I think I'm going to buy them but I wanted to double check that I shouldn't have any problem installing these correct? I have all aftermarket speakers with a non bose system. It should be fine right?

Edit: Here's the link

I have read that aftermarket speakers need an adapter ring to make them fit properly. I have to fit new front speakers as well. From personal experience, the rears needed the adapters so I see no reason why the fronts wouldn't either.

For the time being, you could hack the stock speaker and see if you can use the mounting ring on the stock speaker.......

Here is where I got my adapters from:
http://www.nexxia.co.uk/speaker_adaptor_kits.htm

They ship relatively quickly for an overseas order as well......faster than products I've purchased from Cali.

Woah woah woah, every aftermarket speaker fit perfectly, the tweeters I want to buy are from a stock BOSE system, they'd be direct replacement no?

Tweeters should fit fine then if they are from a another A4....I guess I read your post wrong. I bought aftermarket speakers and they do not fit the factory mounting points, which is why I had to purchase the adapters.

Alright I figured they would fit fine. The guys that installed my speakers didn't mention anything about speaker adapters so I assume they were direct replacements. Although online they say the front speakers are 5.5" (I think) but in reality they're 4.75" (again, I'm not positive this is ballpark) that's the only problem they ran into.

The tweeter should fit if like you stated you are purchasing from another A4, the tweeter should swap out and replace very easily. I guess you are lucky you had someone install the speakers for you. I read up on the forums before doing the work, but figured I could get the speakers to fit.....boy was I wrong.

I hope you got a quality install though, audio installers can be some pretty crafty people when it comes to getting something to work.

It was installed in June and I have had zero problems whatsoever. I'm almost embarrassed to say I got everything installed at Best Buy, but I knew the guys doing the work so I was comfortable letting them take her apart. One of the guys had installed plenty of systems in VWs and he was perfectly comfortable doing it in my car.
