Rear Suspension Spring split

Rear Suspension Spring split
My Audi a4 1.9tdi (2000) has split (broken) one of the rear suspension spring,
the break is at end about 2inchs from the bottom.
My question is how easy is to replace it and/or replace both rear springs?
The costs and is it safe to drive until i get it fixed?
Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

Replacing the springs is pretty easy, definitely a DIY job if you're handy. The spring isn't going to fly off any kill anybody but I dunno how long I'd drive it like that if i had a choice. Its going to ride like crap and shorten the life of the shock on that corner.

Good call Jeremy, I'm sorry if I implied otherwise with my first post. OP, thats no joke, those springs store a lot of energy and will **** your **** up if they get loose while you're compressing them. I just meant that the broken piece wasn't going to fly off the car if you drove on it for a week or two.
