My mechanic put universal yellow in, premixed, after flushing.
This was done at 84K mi. with the timing belt job. I now have
150K mi. without any cooling problems.

^ If by "universal yellow" you mean that Prestone 50/50 Universal stuff, you're supposed to be able to put that in any make and model ever made..

I wasn't sure about it but you seem to have had good luck? Seems like a decent mechanic would have known to put G12 back in it though =/

No there wont be any leaks, the air bubbles just rise to the surface thats what always happens its normal. The problem is is that you havent really flushed much since the majority is still left in there, so you havent really done anything.

Ok, guys, gettin a little noob in this but check it out...i was at 'min' mark during summer, then toped off with water to the max mark. a week ago i drained 1gal of that out of my car and refilled with 1 and a half gal of 50/70 G12/Water mix, even tho i may not have gotten all of the old coolent out (i got out 1gal) do you think my mix is good enough to the point were my lines wont freeze in the winter and cause me to kill myself?

Id buy a gauge to check. You can buy them at like napa for real cheap u suck coolant into it and it has a gauge that tells you what the mix is and how cold it can go before freezing.
