Default Remote Start and Turbo Timer setups?

Just curious if anyone has recommendations for remote start systems on a 5/MT 2001 1.8t. It is beginning to get cold outside and it would be amazing to climb into a toasty car every morning. Also, where should I get it installed, or should I attempt myself?

Also, I feel that I am too aware of the need to turbotime the stock k03. If I could simply let the car run without the key, that would save serious time. Who has a turbo timer? I have the same question as above onthis topic.

Thanks,

I would stick with top brands for remote start, viper etc. You want one with as many ignition and accessory outputs as possible. They also make specific starters for manual transmissions (they really kill the convenience though, mine was for automatics, and I wired it so the e-brake needs to be on for it to start, that obviously wont prevent it from being in gear, but I always leave it in neutral) If you havent done any wiring before, and/or cant read a wiring diagram, I wouldnt suggest it. I did it on my '99 and it took me a weekend. The wiring harnesses have little slack, making it difficult to solder like what is recommended. I used wire taps, and it has been working for over 2 and a half years. If you decide to do it let me know. the12volt.com is also a good resource. Do you live in europe or the US, if you live in the US you dont have to worry about an immobilizer.
