Default Replacing Cracked Oil Pan

Call me careless that's fine, just try to help me out here. So yesterday I accidentally ran up onto a parking block and managed to put a 3" crack in the side of my oil pan. Most, if not all of the oil has leaked out already, so I left my car where it is until I can figure out how to fix it. I already ordered the oil pan from ECS but I couldn't find any DIYs for the installation. I consulted my Bently's Manual, but they're saying I need to lift the engine from the vehicle with a crane and lifting tackle. Is there any way around this step, or am I just going to have to find one of these somewhere?

you'll need to support the engine with something becuase you'll need to move the subframe. otherwise it's just a ton of 10mm nuts. also use a liquid gasket maker. you're not the first to do this lol. if anybody tells you you're careless, they are probably mad at their life

Thanks for the advice hiwords, I'll do that. Is a general purpose engine crane "cherry picker" going to be the only special tool I'll need for this job? or am I also going to need one of those support bars that sits on the fender flanges?

Also, are there any other components that would be wise to change out while I'm working in that area?

Anyone know if any old cherry picker will do the job without the help of one of those fender flange supports?

ya cherry picker should be fine. anything that'll transfer the weight of the engine to something other than the car.

Wow, what a PITA this job has been so far. Just got the old pan out yesterday after about 8 hours of disassembling most of the front end of my car. Hopefully the second half of this job will go a little smoother than the first.
