does anybody knows what is the white plastic for? i was trying to clean it and i touched it and it was very brittle and i cracked it.

 

FOrget whats all in there since i havent seen my car in awhile, but there should be info stamped on there. But again, i havent seen mine in a long time

 

should i worry about water going in there?

 

There's a dust filter under there. Although water shouldn't be a major problem, I wouldn't want to smell it after it got wet.

 

wrong. that white plastic should be clear. Your VIN# is stamped under there.

You're referring to a part of the entire plastic closeout cover. If that cover is cracked anywhere, there is a possibility of water getting to the pollen filter.

there is a few drains under there, and the filter is raised up, i wouldn't worry about it.

 

ditto, mine hasa some stress cracks in it from being old ald dried out, mine is opaque as well. I just replaced my filter and saw now signs of it having gotten wet.
On another note, I joined the random esp and abs dash lights club today. I plan on going to autozone to have battery tested and pull codes, will also checkmaf and report back:-P
